It's extremely important to invest in your business, and I've found that if done wisely and strategically, those investments can have a big impact on you and the success of your business.
SOMETHING TO GROW MY BLOG/BUSINESS
ITEM: Coaching
So, we will start off with something I feel is extremely important for all entrepreneurs: coaching.
But! Not just ANY coaching. It's important to find a coach you feel aligns well with you and your goals, and has experience in your niche and can help guide you along your journey. It should also be someone you feel like you really "click" with, someone that just totally gets where you're coming from and is truly passionate about helping people like you get where they want to go.
In April, I want to invest a coaching call with Laura Joseph, the designer and hand lettering artist behind Paper and Honey, The reason I want to schedule a coaching call with Laura is because she has been an inspiration to me from day one of starting my own design and hand lettering business. I've seen her everywhere across the web, speaking at conferences, being interviewed on blogs, providing a TON of helpful information and insight on her own blog, etc. Since Laura is basically where I want to be in a few years as a business owner, it makes total sense to inquire about scheduling a coaching call with her. A 75-minute coaching call with Laura costs $109, which I feel is such a great value. She gives you homework to fill out once you secure a spot in her schedule for a call, and this is the perfect to lay everything out for her about your business: your questions, your concerns, your fears. Since she's been there, she'll be able to give direction and provide insight from her own experiences. I have so many questions for Laura, and I really hope that I can get some time with her in April!
EDIT: This is no longer on the wishlist, because I officially secured a spot in her calendar for a coaching call in early April! :)
SOMETHING TECH-Y
ITEM: LeadPages
I keep hearing amazing things about LeadPages, and from entrepreneurs out there that I truly admire, like Melyssa Griffin, Mariah Coz, Think Creative Collective, and many more. These ladies know their stuff, and I will pretty much accept that whatever they tell me is true, and if they suggest investing in something that will help you grow your blog or biz, I'm all in.
Since I want to create and launch my own hand lettering and calligraphy e-courses this year, I'm going to need a landing page for those who want to sign up. LeadPages will be perfect for this, as people can sign up for my emails through the landing page to learn more about the courses before purchasing, but they can also just purchase the course right there on that landing page. I can also utilize LeadPages when I host webinars where I'll be informing people interested in my products.
LeadPages ranges in price from $25-$199 per month, depending on your needs. I'll definitely be starting out with the $25 per month until I need a higher plan.
SOMETHING EDUCATIONAL
ITEM: "Your First $1k" e-course by Femtrepreneur
This is something I've already purchased, but I have yet to have the time to begin going through the lessons and implementing the things I learn. This course by Mariah Coz of Femtrepreneur is a very intense e-course that is meant for people who want to grow their e-mail list subscribers and make at least $1,000 from their blog in 60 days or less. Mariah knows her stuff, and I know I'll learn a ton from this course. I'm hoping to focus on completing this course over the next couple of months, and I can't wait to share the results with you all!
SOMETHING FOR MY HOME OFFICE
ITEM: Paper/stationery organizer
As a hand lettering artist and calligrapher, I desperately need something in my home office to organize all of my paper supplies. I have several different types loose leaf paper, colored paper, cardstock, envelopes, blank stationery, and more, but it has all been put in various areas of my office because I don't have a focused area to keep everything. Some of it is piled on my desk, some of it is on the floor, some is in a box in my closet, etc., and I just can't keep it like this anymore, for the sake of my sanity. I've found several on Amazon that I am considering (such this one, this one and this one), but I would love to hear any suggestions all of you may have! :)
SOMETHING TO INSPIRE ME
ITEM: Floral wall art
I've recently become OBSESSED with floral watercolor art, and actually took at class on Skillshare teaching the basics. To my surprise, I found that I really, really love it and have somewhat of knack for it, so I will be dedicating some time each week to practice my floral watercolor painting. If you've never tried it, I highly suggest taking Amarilys Henderson's watercolor class on Skillshare - she is an amazing watercolor artist, and I learned SO MUCH from her in this short class.
Anyway, I really hope to create something beautiful that I can hang on my office wall, so I can look at it when I'm stressed or need some inspiration.
I hope you liked this post! Interested in any of the items I mentioned and want to know more? Have a suggestion? Let me know! :)
xoxo, Brittany
